Refreshing Cocktails That Aren’t an Aperol Spritz

The Aperol spritz is the ultimate refreshing cocktail. You can’t walk by a patio without spotting the bright orange mixture, its glass dripping with dewy beads of condensation. It really is a thing of beauty—and so simple to make yourself. But, as much as we are loyal to the Aperol spritz, we are also keen to broaden our horizons. Here are three places to start.

Rosé Margarita from Wood and Spoon

Seriously—who would have thought this would turn out so well? Make sure to use a dry rosé, as it pairs better with the tartness of the lime. This drink is a great option: it is refreshing, light, and a super gorgeous blush colour. Your cocktail has to look as good as it tastes, right?

Negroni Sbagliato from Goop

Okay, so we cannot completely let the spritz go. This cocktail is the equivalent of a negroni and an Aperol spritz having a baby. It has three ingredients and a lovely bright hue.

South Side from Bon Appetit

Since we missed out on the gin in the negroni sbagliato, we thought a gin cocktail was worthy of the list. What made the cut? The south side: a classic gin drink made with fresh lemon juice, mint leaves, simple syrup, and club soda. You can even add limoncello into the mix for a more boozy affair.

Cheers to trying new things.
