Simple Clothing Spray

Credit for this recipe has to go to Jonathon Litchfield. We were preparing for a photo shoot in his home what now feels like 100 years ago, and he started spraying his outfit with water—while he was wearing it.

The heat from his body, he explained, combined with the mist, helped gently de-wrinkle his clothing. For an added scent bonus, he said he sometimes mixes in some essential oils.

You can bet I went home and tried this, and now it’s a lovely little pick-me-up when I’m getting dressed.

Just to be safe, I’d suggest steering clear of super delicate fabrics like silk that may be more sensitive to oil. Spot test on lighter fabrics first, too.

Method

  1. Mix the ingredients together in a spray bottle.
  2. Shake well before each use.
  3. When you’ve put on an outfit, spritz yourself down with the spray.
  4. Your body heat will give your clothes an instant refresh, and a glorious scent will fill the air.
